Pedestrian Hit By Live Wire In Garfield

GARFIELD, N.J. -- A 31-year-old Garfield man was conscious and alert while being transported to the hospital after being struck by a live electrical wire Tuesday morning in Garfield, police said.

The high-voltage wire snapped around 11:50 a.m. and ht the man as he was crossing MacArthur Avenue at Passaic Street, Capt. Darren Sucorowski told Daily Voice.

He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center as a precaution, the captain said.

PSE&G responded.

Power outages were reported in the city as a result.
