WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Sophie Inserra, a resident of Manchester and formerly of Washington Township, died Wednesday, June 22. She was 95.
Born in Elyria, Ohio, she lived in Gilbertsville, Mass. for more than 20 years before moving to Belleville. She then raised her family in Washington Township for 17 years before settling in Manchester 35 years ago. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. John’s RC Church in Lakehurst.
She is survived by her children, Patrick Inserra and Michael Inserra and his wife Patty; grandchildren Ashley and husband Kevin, Michael Jr. and Giovanna; and one great-grandchild due this December.
She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Anthony Inserra.
The funeral is at 10 a.m. Monday with visitation at the Church of the Presentation, 271 W. Saddle River Road, Saddle River. There will be an 11 a.m. Mass. Interment will be at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations for the Carl Inserra Leukemia Fund.
