LODI, N.J. -- Helen Check, of Lodi, died on Monday, Feb. 27. She was 95.
An Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1943-1946, she was a former member of VFW Memorial Post 4591 in Hasbrouck Heights. Before she retired, she was a stock room clerk at Aeronautical Instruments, in Lodi.
She is survived by her children, Paul Check, Diane Martin and her husband Michael, and Marian Wester and her husband Henry; sisters Elizabeth Mancario and Irene Rado; grandchildren Veronica, Jonathan, and Keith and his wife Sheena; and four great -granddaughters.
Check was preceded by her husband, Edward J. Check; parents John and Pauline Rosko; and sisters Anne, Mary, Pauline and Margaret.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, at the Costa Memorial Home, 170 Central Ave., in Hasbrouck Heights. The funeral will be from the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Friday, with a 10 a.m. funeral liturgy from Corpus Christi Church, in Hasbrouck Heights. Interment will follow, at George Washington Memorial Park, in Paramus.
