LODI, N.J. -- Members of St. Joseph Society in Lodi purchased 48 new tables and added it to the church Sunday in honor of the Rev. Americo Salvi.
Salvi, 84, passed away last November. He was a longtime member of the church and of the Italian-American Community. He was a graduate of the Gregorian University in Rome, Italy where he studied two years of Philosophy and four years of Theology in preparation of the Priesthood.
He was ordained on April 3, 1954.
Patrizia Pagano, founder of St. Joseph's ladies auxiliary, said she could "feel Father Americo beaming with smiles."
