Erika Aguilar was crossing Main Avenue near South Parkway when she was stuck around 9 p.m., according to authorities.

“He/she left Erika there to fight a battle that she has to fight not only for herself but for her 8-year-old son and her unborn child,” Erika’s mother, Rosa Aguilar, wrote on a GoFundMe page she created to raise funds for her daughter’s care.

“She is a fighter and is currently in the hospital trying to make sure she gets better,” she wrote about her daughter who is 4 months pregnant.

Rosa said that during the next few months she will be Erika’s number one care provider, and will have to take time off of work to help her heal.

“I ask all my family and friends and anyone that can help us in this situation to donate anything they can so that we are able to pay these hefty hospital bills that are coming our way for Erika and the baby,” she wrote.

More than $2,700 had been raised as of Tuesday afternoon.
