LODI, N.J. -- ShopRite of Lodi is welcoming a new in-store dietitian, to lead the store's new offerings of free nutrition counseling and wellness programs for customers and local community organizations.
Julianne Gallo is a registered dietician, and she'll be a wellness resource for customers, providing answers to nutrition questions and healthy recipe ideas while they shop.
She'll also host a variety of free store-based events each month, including product demos, one-on-one nutrition counseling, weight management classes and health screenings.
"Our dietitians are at the heart of our company's efforts to educate and inspire customers to focus on their own health and that of their families,” said Lindsey Inserra, VP of marketing and corporate retail health and wellness at Inserra Supermarkets.
"We are thrilled to continue expanding our In-store Dietitian Program and now offer these services at ShopRite of Lodi. Julianne has a deep background in dietetics and is a perfect fit for this role."
For the last several months, Gallo has been the interim dietitian at Inserra's ShopRite of Wayne.
Prior to joining Inserra, Gallo was a registered dietitian at St. Barnabas Medical Center, in Livingston, where she conducted clinical nutrition assessments for the in-patient population. Before that, she was as a dietary worker at New York Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital and a WIC nutritionist with the St. Joseph's Healthcare System, in Paterson.
Gallo earned her bachelor's degree in nutritional sciences at Rutgers University and her master's in nutrition education at Montclair State University. She completed her dietetic internship at Iowa State University and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
ShopRite's in-store dietitians are also available to serve as guest speakers and instructors at health and wellness events hosted by local organizations. For more info, contact Gallo at Julianne.Gallo@Wakefern.com or 201-250-5042.
