Bergen Promotes Lodi Wrestling Fundraiser For Homeless Veterans

Fundraiser Wrestling Champion “Showtime” Shawn Sheridan will also compete at the June 18 event, which begins at the Passaic Avenue club at 6:30 p.m.

Ticket donations start at $10 for general admission.

Second-row seats are $15 and front row $20.

An early sellout was expected.

“Our goal is to completely eliminate veteran homelessness in the County of Bergen,” said Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco. “These brave men and women have served their nation overseas -- it is our obligation to serve them when they return home.”

The Division of Veterans Services was established in 1977 to provide resident veterans and their dependents with information and assistance in obtaining earned entitlements from federal, state, and local governments, as well as any that are available privately.

In 1993, the division launched “TRACERS,” an all-volunteer group consisting of resident veterans, to help Bergen's homeless veterans become self-sufficient.
