The event is being held for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in memory of Susan “Suzie” Gallagher Colurciello, a former pre-school teacher at the Y, who died at age 49 in May.

She was also the sister of Patricia Gallagher, the Y’s chief executive officer,

"Suzie was more than a part of the Y-family for 15 years. She is the beloved sister to our CEO, teacher to hundreds of four year olds throughout her career at the Y, and friend to all who knew her," the YMCA said when she died. "Suzie was part of the very fabric of the Y."

A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

The event begins at 20th Century Field on Elizabeth Street, with the course going through local streets.

Onsight registration starts at 7 a.m., with the 5K Walk / Run beginning at 8:30 a.m. There will also be family Zumba and a fun run.
