Saddle River School Drinking Fountains Shut For High Lead Levels In Water

SADDLE RIVER, N.J. — Seven drinking water fountains at Wandell School in Saddle River have been shut down after samples were shown to exceed acceptable lead levels, northjersey.com reports.

A total of 21 water outlets were tested at the school, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has established a safety level of 15 parts per billion.

The district is waiting for a second test to be done to confirm the results of the first, according to the report.
