Garfield, Army Staff Team Up For Gym Class

GARFIELD, N.J. — Garfield High School enlisted military help to make the most of gym classes.

U.S. Army representatives will lead a part of gym class Wednesday mornings for the second year in a row, Assistant Director of Athletics Thomas Giuffre said.

The Army instructors will focus on warmups.

Giuffre said they were still working out the details but a change of pace can be helpful for the students.

"I'm sure the stuff they bring in is going to be totally different than what we do," he told Daily Voice, "and sometimes that's good. The kids will see a different face and different outlook."
