NEW MILFORD, N.J. – Following news that NJ Transit commuters would continue to experience delays and disruptions through the summer, New Milford Councilwoman and state Senate candidate Kelly Langschultz is calling for a slash in ticket prices.

“Commuters in Bergen County deserve a break,” Langschultz said. “NJ Transit needs to reduce the cost of their ticket prices and start accommodating riders for the decline in service. We have plenty of people here who have already spent hundreds of dollars on monthly passes, and now we're learning that there will be even further interruptions in service."

Bloomberg reported Tuesday that Amtrak will undertake much needed repairs during a 44-day period that will result in limited service into Penn Station from July 7 to July 25 and from Aug. 4 to Aug. 28.

“I would like to see NJ Transit significantly reduce the prices of their tickets to NYC over that 44 day period,” Langschultz said.
