Somehow, none of them sustained injuries that would be considered life-threatening, police said.

A pickup truck and another vehicle took out a utility pole, a tree, a fire hydrant and a third vehicle as they careened into the side of the Chakra Restaurant -- leaving a Jeep upside down against the wall -- a short distance past where Route 208 becomes eastbound Route 4.

No patrons were injured.

The building sustained significant structural damage, authorities at the scene said. The restaurant's owner was overheard saying that his business would likely be closed for several weeks to facilitate necessary repairs.

Paramus police, firefighters, Rescue Squad and EMS units responded.

A mutual aid ambulance was also dispatched to assist with patient transport.
