GARFIELD, N.J. -- An undercover Bergen County prosecutor’s agent bought several bags of heroin from a Garfield man before busting him on drug-selling charges, authorities said.
Zakee R. Murphy, 27, who is single and unemployed, sold the smack to the investigator in Hackensack and Garfield in July and August, then was arrested Tuesday while carrying 50 gags of heroin, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.
A search of his Cambridge Avenue apartment turned up 40 more bags of heroin, an ounce of marijuana, 17 Xanax pills in an unlabeled bottle, drug paraphernalia and $2,700 in suspected proceeds following a joint investigation by his Narcotics Task Force and police from Dumont, Garfield and Hackensack, Grewal said.
Murphy was released pending a Nov. 1 first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.
