The SUV "went straight over the embankment" in the parking lot of the Quick Chek complex at 99 River Drive around 3:40 p.m., Capt. Darren Sucorowski told Daily Voice.

It left the vehicle upside down in the water, he said.

Firefighters and the Wallington Dive Team quickly extricated the driver, Sucorowski said.
