Postal investigators boxing in holdup suspect

ONLY ON CLIFFVIEW PILOT: Postal inspectors believe they’ve narrowed the area where they can find the man who robbed a West New York post office the first day in July, as well as a possible accomplice who was photographed making videotapes of the facility a week before.

Now all they need is for a $50,000 reward to do its work — and sway a willing citizen to drop a dime.

“We continue to pursue all tips and evaluate their credibility individually,” the lead investigator, Inspector Eric Malecki, told CLIFFVIEW PILOT late Tuesday.

However, he said: “We are following up on a credible lead that the suspect(s) is from the Bergen-Lafayette area in Jersey City.”

Malecki emphasized that any and all calls will be kept confidential. He said he can reached any time of the day at (973) 693-5400 or 877-US-MAIL-5. Be sure to mention CLIFFVIEWPILOT.COM for immediate recognition.
