Olvy Torres, 36, is being held in Hudson County jail on charges he fatally struck a 59-year-old woman in North Bergen before fleeing the scene on foot, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.
After turning himself into authorities, $1 million in cash and bags of diamonds were seized from a Palisades Park apartment he had been renting.
Melissa Coda, 37 of Teaneck -- who owns House of Glam in Ridgewood, formerly Paramus -- was arrested by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Narcotics Task Force, and charged with money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering on Nov. 4.
Coda, formerly of Hackensack was arrested after a search of a safety deposit box maintained by her led to the recovery of more than $250,000 and a kilogram of gold valued at more than $40,000. The NTF also seized her 2013 Mercedes Benz ML350.
On Nov. 8, Yesenia Suriel, 30 of Brooklyn, N.Y., surrendered to authorities and was charged with money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering. A search of a safety deposit box maintained by Suriel resulted in the recovery of more than $75,000 in United States currency and two diamond rings.
