Garfield Police Reel Youngsters Into 'Cops & Bobbers' Fishing Event

GARFIELD, N.J. -- Garfield police look to boost their relationships with local children with their second annual "Cops and Bobbers" fishing tournament this Saturday.

Bring your own rod and reel -- bait will be provided for you.

The police department and PBA Local 46 will hold the special event for youngsters three to 15 years old from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dahnert’s Lake County Park off Midland Avenue.

Those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult and all children must pre-register, for free, either at Garfield Police Headquarters, 160 Belmont Ave., or via email: jstewart@garfieldpolice.org.

Bring your own rod and reel -- bait will be provided for you.

Donations of new or slightly used fishing tackle and fishing related gift cards will be accepted and awarded to young participants.
