Garfield Police Officers Save Boy, 5, Choking On Quarter

Officer Francisco Sanchez responded to a frantic call from the boy's grandmother just before 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Capt. Darren Sucorowski said.

Family members were putting the choking boy in their car when Sanchez realized he had to act fast.

He grabbed the child, pushed down several times on his abdomen and slapped him on the back, dislodging the coin, Sucorowski said.

Family members declined medical attention for the revived youngster after EMS workers checked him out. READ MORE....
