GARFIELD, N.J. -- Garfield firefighters trained Saturday with a unique "Batrope"-like system that allows them to escape a dangerous upper-floor situation in seconds.

They bought the $80,000 Petzle EXO Bailout System with money from a $114,000 FEMA assistance to firefighters grant awarded last year.
