Estiby R. Fernandez, 21, Robert W. Pena-Marzan, 18, and Jimmy Polanco, 22, all from Paterson, also were charged with aggravated assault and various weapons counts, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Deputy Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announced in a joint release.

The victim was attacked around 4:10 p.m. Nov. 14 on Lewis Street, they said.

He was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson and has since been released.

A joint investigation led to Fernandez’s arrest last Tuesday and Pena-Marzan’s a day later, authorities said. Polanco turned himself in on Sunday, they said.

All three remained held pending detention hearings this Friday. Authorities said they will seek to have them held pending the outcome of the case.
