GARFIELD, N.J. -- Vincent "Jimmy" Pepe of Garfield died on Dec. 14. He was 80.
Born in Bolognetta, Sicily-Italy, he emigrated to the US in 1952, living in New York for three years, Garfield and Lodi several years, Hasbrouck Heights for 40 years, and Denville the past 11 years. He was the President and co-owner of Constant Services, Inc., in Fairfield since 1978 working for over 45 years. He was a member of the Italian American Forum of Lodi, The Hasbrouck Heights Elks Lodge 1962, and a member and former officer of the St. Anthony Society in Garfield. He also served in the U.S. National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet Tallia; children, James Pepe and wife Rita; and Cindy Andretta and husband Anthony; grandchildren, Nicole her husband Michael Baniowski; Taylor Andretta; Julia Pepe; and James Pepe Jr.; great-grandchild due in June; brother, Anthony Pepe and wife Angelina.
He was predeceased by his parents, Rosario and Antonina Pepe; and sisters, Santa Cieri and Antonietta Guagenti.
Visiting will be on Sunday, Dec 18 from 1-3 and 5-9 p.m. The funeral is Monday, Dec. 19, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. followed by a 10:30 a.m. mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Private cremation to follow.
