GARFIELD, N.J. --Ronald E. Bohannon, a lifelong resident of Garfield, died on Sept. 17. He was 75.
Bohannon graduated from Garfield High School a successful football player (“Tank” # 34), and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1990.
He went to Lincoln Tech and owned his business Bohannon’s Auto Repairs in Garfield for 34 years retiring in 2010.
Bohannon was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Garfield, and was an avid guitar player who loved all music.
Bohannon is survived by his wife of 54 years Lucille (nee Cacciatore); three children, Robyn Rust and husband David, Rhonda Staranka and husband John, and Ronald Bohannon and wife Danielle; two brothers, Kenneth and wife Nadeen and Dennis and wife Shelly, a sister, Geraldine Larger; and six grandchildren, Justin, Dylan, Jake, Kaitlyn, Jenna, and Simone.
