GARFIELD, N.J. -- Phyllis Horvath, of Garfield, died Nov. 4. She was 85.
She worked as a supervisor for the Bergen County Superintendent of Elections in Hackensack since 1980. She also was a member of the Garfield Jaycees, a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church and a member of the Rosary Society.
She is survived by her children, Edward and wife Linda, William and Kenneth; siblings, Dominick Sassano, John Sassano and Margaret Walsh; and four grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Danny and Frank Sassano.
Visiting will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Aloia Funeral Home
The funeral will be on Thursday, November 10, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield followed by an 11 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, 188 MacArthur Ave., Garfield. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saddle Brook.
