LODI, N.J. -- Lucia M. Salemi, 92, a lifelong resident of Lodi, passed away March 16, 2016.
She was a homemaker and very active in the community, belonging to Mt. Virgin Church, Garfield, the Lodi Seniors, the Lodi AARP and the Lodi American Legion Post 136 Ladies Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by her parents, Retired Lodi Police Officer Jack and Louise Salemi; a brother, Joseph; and a sister, Theresa Sciacca.
She is survived by a brother, Patrick Salemi; and a sister-in-law, Amelia Salemi. She also was the aunt of her niece and caretaker, Louise Sciacca and husband Nerses Melkonian, John and Linda Sciacca, Joseph and Sally Sciacca, Patricia and William Goebel, Jack and Michele Salemi, Angela DeRogatis, Susan and Joseph Scotto, Lynn Salemi, and Joseph Salemi, 17 great-nieces and great-nephews, and eight great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Visiting hours are from 4-7 p.m. Friday, and the funeral is at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the Aloia Funeral Home, followed by a 10:45 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Mt. Virgin Church, Garfield.
