MONTVILLE, N.J. — Julia French (nee Zeidler), of Montville died Thursday, Dec. 10. She was 89.
She came to the United States from Germany in 1952. She was a seamstress who worked for Hartmann, Inc. in Garfield until 1976 and Goralski, Inc. in Elmwood Park until her retirement in 1995. She utilized her sewing talents to create her daughter's wedding gown and was an avid gardener who grew prize tomatoes and an accomplished cook and baker.
She is survived by her daughter Lillian A. (French) Gola and her husband Henry A. Gola Jr.; her sister Erna Smith and her husband Kenneth; grandson Henry Robert Gola and his wife Alice Ann; granddaughter Julianne Gola Papa and her husband Jason Papa; and numerous great grand children, nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Robert J. French; a brother, Karl Zeidler and his wife Magdalena (Huber) of Miesbach, Germany.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Julia French can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or New Jersey Hospice Foundation, 400 Broadacres Drive, 1st Floor, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
