LODI, N.J. -- Josephine Cyran, of Lodi, died Tuesday, March 22. She was 92.
She was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Passaic, to John and Frances (Kolodziej) Wojasuk. She was raised in Wallington and graduated from Lodi High School in 1940.
On Feb. 2, 1946, she married Stanley Cyran at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Wallington. They were married for 59 years at the time of Stanley's death in 2005.
During World War II, she worked at Western Electric. Following the war, she became a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom. In later years, she worked for National Community Bank in Maywood as a supervisor, retiring in the mid-1970s.
She was very active in the Wallington Community belonging to AARP #4115, the Wallington Seniors and was a lifelong parishioner of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. In the past, she enjoyed traveling. More recently, she focused on her enjoyment of cooking, knitting and staying active with her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughters Carleen Cyran, and Carol and her husband, Lawrence McBride.
She was predeceased by her infant daughter Joyce; and her son Robert.
Visiting will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave. Wallington. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 127 Paterson Ave., Wallington. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack.
