LODI, N.J. -- John Starniola -- a North Bergen resident, formerly of Lodi -- died on Thursday, April 28. He was 82.
Before retiring, Starniola was a presser for A&T Dress Co., in Lodi. He was a Korean War Navy veteran, serving on the USS Caperton 650. He was a member of the St. Joseph Society and the ILGWU.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Nancy Reilly and her husband Thomas, Dolores Dubrasky and her husband John, John Dubrasky, Steven Dubrasky and his wife Debra, Paula Caruso and her husband Vincent, and Lisa Paglia and her husband Michael.
Starniola was predeceased by his life partner for 54 years, Richard Tully; parents Sebastian and Bernadetta; sisters Stella Boda and Sadie Walges; and nephew and niece Brian Bode and Rosemarie Daniels.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, April 29, at the Santangelo Funeral Home, 300 N. Main St., in Lodi. A funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, then to St. Joseph Church for a 9:30 a.m. funeral mass. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
