LODI, N.J. — Frank S. La Greca, of Lodi, died Tuesday, Aug. 9. He was 86.
He was born Aug. 26, 1929.
He worked for Curtis Wright in Wood-Ridge for 32 years, then for the Bergen County Parks for 17 years and lastly as a dedicated Lodi Crossing Guard for 15 years. He also lovingly volunteered his time at Camp Sunshine in Ridgewood, St. Joseph's Church in Lodi and the Adorno Fathers in Ramsey.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 2861 in Lodi and an active member of the Lodi Senior Citizens club.
He was the husband of Phyllis (nee Ferrara); father of Carolyn and her husband Guy La Greca-Ruggierio of Fair Lawn and Susan and her husband Peter La Greca- Bertinato of Boxford, Mass.; grandfather of Lindsey and Ryan Ruggerio of Fair Lawn and Samantha, Lauren and Michael Bertinato of Boxford, Mass.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alesso Funeral Home, 91 Union St., Lodi followed by a funeral liturgy at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph RC Church, 40 Spring St., Lodi. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
