Borough police reminded residents on its Facebook page following winter storm Jonas that placing items in the street to save a parking spot is illegal and subject to a fine. Residents, however, feel that going through the work of digging out a parking spot entitles them to keep it, NorthJersey.com reported.

Borough Manager Bruce Masopust said he understands where residents are coming from, especially when on-street spots are at a premium, NorthJersey.com said.
