A heavily armed gunman who attacked a cinema in Western Germany was shot and killed by responding police, according to German media reports.
Early reports said 25 people were injured in the attack. It remains unclear if the injured were shot, or hurt in other ways, according to CNN. There has been no word about a possible death toll.
The cinema is in a shopping complex Viernheim near Frankfurt.
German media reports indicated the gunman had barricaded himself inside the theater.
The gunman, who was reportedly masked, entered the cinema around 3 p.m. local time, according to CNN.
