New Jersey gun shop owners and police leaders are noting a "record-setting" spike in gun sales following President Barack Obama's speech calling for stronger background checks on gun purchases nationwide, according to NJ.com.
Police say it is not uncommon for gun sales to increase whenever there is talk about changing gun laws. Several gun shop owners credit Obama with increasing business, reports NJ.com.
Though the surge in sales varied from town to town, most people seemed to agree that buyers are worried that it will be much harder to get guns in the future, says NJ.com.
