GARFIELD, N.J. — Happy birthday to Garfield’s Luis Castillo of the NFL!
Castillo, who is turning 33, is a former American football defensive end in the NFL.
Prior to his professional and collegiate career, Castillo was the team captain and MVP of the Garfield High School football team under coach Steven Mucha.
He was a 4-year letter winner in wrestling but lost to eventual state champion John Miller of Pompton Lakes.
Castillo was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the first round of the 2005 NFL draft and played college at Northwestern.
