Annie Semioli was struck while crossing Route 46 in October 2015, and now only leaves the house when she has a doctor’s appointment and can be transported via ambulance, her sister, Gina, wrote on a GoFundMe page.

The page had garnered more than $2,000 in donations by Monday afternoon.

“Since we do not have a handicapped vehicle we cannot take Annie out of the house … We would love to be able to take Annie out to the park, beach, and all the places she once enjoyed,” she wrote.

Gina, of Lodi, said she hopes to raise enough funds to purchase a van and have it converted into a handicapped vehicle.

“She is much more alert when she is out. I can only imagine how she feels never leaving the house,” Gina said of her sister.

Annie was on track to graduate with an accounting degree from Montclair State University when she was hit by the truck, and the driver fled the scene.

“I hope and pray that one day Annie will be able to walk and talk again,” Gina wrote.
