Lodi Lawyer Lands Breakout Role On TV Show As Martin Luther

A former Lodi resident left a lucrative career as an attorney and investment banker to pursue a passion that couldn't be ignored.

Alexandru Aldea's latest role is Martin Luther in the new CNN original series "Pope: The Most Powerful Man in History."

Look for him on the April 1 episode "A Church Divided."

The show goes inside the Vatican to reveal the true power held by popes throughout the ages. The docu-series explores how 12 apostles became 1.2 billion Catholics today, linking recent news events surrounding the Vatican with their unexpected origins. 

Aldea has amassed an impressive resume of feature films, shorts, web-series and TV work. 

He is most well-known for his roles in The Dog Walker (CSI Detective); Wait, Wait, Don't Kill Me (Nurse Ruther[erford]); Skeleton Crew (Elias); and now Pope.

As a nod to his real-world experience, Aldea has performed in both the courtroom and the boardroom. His lifelong practice of martial arts has translated well in stage combat roles.
