GARFIELD, N.J. -- "A Better Tomorrow, One Community At a Time" is the theme of a Sustainable Jersey program that kicks off in Garfield with a special Town Hall meeting aimed at recruiting volunteers this Wednesday, Sept. 30.
Sustainable Jersey is a certification program for New Jersey municipalities that want to go green, save money and take long-term sustainability steps.
Volunteers are those looking to support the local economy through environmental management and conservation -- while "embracing social equity and fairness in our community," organizers said.
Providing support at the 7:30 p.m. Green Team Town Hall meeting at the Garfield Senior Center on Midland Avenue will be the NYU Department of Environmental Medicine Community Engagement.
