GARFIELD, N.J. -- Help support kids fighting rare diseases through a fundraiser breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 28, at Applebee's.

The breakfast supports the Let Them Be Little X2 Foundation, run by Jeff Leider of Elmwood Park. His two sons, Jason and Justin, were diagnosed with Hunter syndrome five years ago. After a lot of effort, both are in clinical trials and doing well, Leider said.

The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, eggs and beverage -- your choice of coffee, tea, juice or soda. Adult tickets are $12, children 12 and younger are $6, and 3 and younger are free.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling Tracey Acocella at 551-206-2987.

"We may not be able to cure them, but we can help create one smile at a time," notes the event posting.

The fundraiser is at the Applebee's in Garfield, at 186 Passaic St., and it begins at 8 a.m. Visit the event's Facebook page here.
